James Doyle timed it to perfection as he got Sea Of Class up on the line to win the Darley Irish Oaks at the Curragh.
Doyle was happy to sit at the rear of the field for much of the mile-and-a-half journey on the William Haggas-trained filly, eventually easing his mount to the outside of runners inside the two-furlong marker.
Up front Epsom Oaks heroine Forever Together had seized the initiative on turning into the straight and made a bold bid to land the Epsom-Curragh double.
But all the while Doyle - recording a high-profile treble on the day - was getting closer and closer on the 11-4 chance, without ever appearing to resort to his whip.
In the end the line just came too soon for the gallant Forever Together, as the ice-cool Doyle and Sea Of Class picked her up in the shadow of the post. Mary Tudor was third.

Haggas said: "I did ask him to be brave, but I didn't think he'd be that brave. He took it up fairly close home, but he said she was on her game today.
"It's a big race for us, we don't come here very often. This is a very good filly and we know she's a good filly, so you want it all to go right and it's come right.
"We were never that keen on going to Epsom, but it's an Oaks and Oaks are big things. I was just coming around to running and fortunately it rained, so someone up there was telling me not to run.
"To go and have a relatively easy race and have a bit more experience was great and she's trained beautifully since.
"James is in a rich vein of form at the moment, not only today, but he's been riding very well all year.
"I asked him to be brave, because she's got a good turn of foot. I said 'if you are going to the front three out, we are in trouble'."
Doyle also took the plaudits on Marie's Diamond and Larchmont Lad.
Mark Johnston's Marie's Diamond (7-2) went one better in the Group Three Jebel Ali Racecourse And Stables Anglesey Stakes after finishing second in the Group Two Railway Stakes on this course three weeks ago.
"The race panned out beautifully, how I kind of thought it would," said Doyle.
"I got a nice tow into it so we didn't have to do all the donkey work.
"He's going to get further than this. Seven and a mile will be well within his compass. He's been pretty tough and progressive this season, so he's one to look forward to."
Marie's Diamond is owned by Middleham Park Racing, who also saw their colours carried to success by Ice Cold In Alex (9-2), trained by Ken Condon, in the Extra.ie Handicap.
Larchmont Lad (4-1) beat So Beloved to give trainer David O'Meara a one-two in the Group Two in the Friarstown Stud Minstrel Stakes.
"We were hopeful that both horses had a great chance coming over," said O'Meara.
The North Yorkshire trainer was also on target with Intisaab (8-1) in the Tote Scurry Handicap under Danny Tudhope.
"He's a very good horse. He won in Qatar this year, a very valuable race out there, and won a conditions race at Haydock so he's borderline better than handicap company at his best," said O'Meara
