Bookmakers are preparing for their busiest day of the year as the Grand National nears.

The world's most famous steeplechase will take place at Liverpool's Aintree racecourse today.

It attracts more bets than any other race in Britain - and this year is unlikely to be any different.

With as many as 40 runners set to race across the four-mile course, choosing a winner can be tricky.

But with just a few days until the race, who's fancied?

Here's our guide to the favourites...

Who is the favourite?

As it stands, William Hill have Total Recall as the favourite at 10/1.

The nine-year-old has been in impressive form since joining trainer Willie Mullins, winning the Munster National, Ladbrokes Trophy and a handicap hurdle at Leopardstown.

Formerly with now-retired trainer Sandra Hughes, he has been given a weight of 11st 1lb for the Grand National.

Who are the other front runners?

Blaklion is also among the market-leaders, with a price of 11/1.

Trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies, he finished fourth in last year's Grand National.

The nine-year-old will be aiming for better this time around after being alloted a weight of 11st 6lb.

Tiger Roll, trained by Gordon Elliot, is also rated at 11/1.

He romped to victory in the Glenfarclas Chase at Cheltenham last month.

What are the odds for the rest of the runners?

At present, 63 runners remain on course, but that number will drop to 40 or below.
