Wesley Ward is leaning towards stepping Happy Like A Fool up in class and trip for the Prix Morny at Deauville later this month.

The six-furlong Group One on August 20 is one of two options under consideration for the daughter of Distorted Humour after she missed her intended outing in the Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood on Wednesday due to soft ground.

Happy Like A Fool made a winning debut at Keeneland but suffered an odds-on defeat when second in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot.

Ward said: "If the race would have been the day before it would have been fine.

"Goodwood is a lovely place and it would have been lovely to run but it was not to be.

"We have got to decide which direction we are going in.

"We have got to decide between the Morny or the Lowther but it's a little bit of an easier six furlongs at Deauville than it is at York.

"We will just take things one race at a time with her."
