Richard Spencer is leaning towards making the Prix Morny at Deauville the next port of call for Coventry Stakes winner Rajasinghe.

Although plans remain fluid, the Newmarket handler feels the Qatar Goodwood Festival may come too soon for the son of Choisir and is instead favouring a tilt at the six-furlong Group One on August 20.

The Rebel Racing-owned colt lost his unbeaten record at Newmarket last week after failing to defy a 3lb penalty for his Royal Ascot triumph when finishing third in the July Stakes.

Spencer said: "It's all a bit up in the air at the moment. He is entered in the Prix Morny but we have entered him in all the high class races.

"He has come out of his last race fine. We'll just how he is over the next few weeks. I think Goodwood will probably come too soon.

"We could potentially go for the Morny. It is a Group One and that is the natural progression.

"I think we would want to step him up to seven furlongs by the end of the year, but we will keep him at six for the time being as he not short of pace as he has won a Coventry."
